Chol Rambang
SECRETARY OF INFORMATION / COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Chol Rambang was born in Ethiopia and came to the United States as a refugee. Chol and her family were resettled in 2000 in Buffalo, New York. Her family moved to Tennessee the following year, where they currently still reside to this day. Chol graduated High School in 2014. Since she was in high school Chol has always considered becoming a service member as she admired the patriotism and the courage of one serving their country and countrymen. Ultimately, she put that dream to the side and continued her education.
Chol received her bachelor’s in 2018 from the University of Memphis. Knowing the changes of paying for education and seeking a way to pay for school, Chol decided to revisit the once childhood dream. Chol joined the Tennessee National Guard in 2021 in hopes to pay her student loans and further continue her education. Chol hopes to use her military educational benefits to continue her education in Public Health and Health Policies.
In her civilian life, Chol works in Refugee Resettlement and Immigration Services. She helps educate and empower refugee family’s through social serves and employment assistance. Chol finds her true passions in helping others find their full potential through empowering her clients and colleagues.
As Chol continues her military career as a young soldier, she has hopes of because a warrant officer or commissioned officer. Chol is apart of Tennessee National Guard Medical Detachment.
Chol believes SSSDVA is about educating South Sudanese and fostering unity through service, brotherhood, and patriotism. Chol believes SSSDVA is more then just a Veteran Association but a pathway for us as South Sudanese to grow and learn throughout the diaspora, as these are tools and teachings we can carry on with us and move us forward.
